The Danville Planning Commission is set to consider an application to increase the maximum enrollment at the newly opened Primrose School in the southeast portion of town.

The new preschool opened for business on Jan. 2, with the site at 2425 Camino Tassajara having been approved for a childcare facility enrolling up to 108 children in 2022 under a land use permit.

Following just over a month of operations, the applicant is now seeking to increase the enrollment cap to 134, which would require a new land use permit from the town.

In addition to enrolling additional students, the applicant is seeking to increase the school’s staff to a total of 24, requiring additional parking that has so far been secured via a lease of 15 parking stalls at the neighboring Messiah Lutheran Church, bringing the total number of parking spaces up to 38.

Town staff are recommending a condition of approval for the application that would require teachers to use all 15 parking stalls at the neighboring church before making use of the on-site parking.

The Planning Commission is set to meet at 5 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 13). The agenda is available here.
