Niche, a national K-12 and college research platform, recently named three Tri-Valley school districts as some of the highest ranked districts in their respective area, with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District coming in as the second-best district in Contra Costa County.

“This recognition is due to our high levels of academic success, outstanding staff, and extracurricular programs,” SRVUSD Superintendent CJ Cammack said in his Oct. 16 superintendent newsletter. “As you know, those positive rankings are also a result of our successful partnership with you as parents and caregivers. We are always better off when working together. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.”

SRVUSD ranked only behind Lafayette’s Acalanes Union High School District, which was rated the top district in the county and No. 15 in California.

Niche is an online platform that uses data to help people best choose a school district for their kids. According to its website, it uses public data and reviews to factor thousands of schools into its grading system in order to rank these schools.

“Our data scientists and user researchers rigorously analyze data and user opinions to assess the key aspects of K-12 Schools, Colleges, and Places to Live,” according to the Niche website. “Every month, millions of students and families use the Niche grades and report cards to find the right school or neighborhood.”

According to the research platform, SRVUSD was also ranked as the 30th best school district in California and scored with all A letter scores when it came to categories such as academics, teachers and college preparation.

However, it did receive B letter scores in areas like clubs and activities, diversity and administration.

Elsewhere in the Tri-Valley, Pleasanton Unified School District was named the best school in Alameda County while Dublin Unified School District was ranked No. 3 and Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District as No. 10.
