The incumbent representing a majority of the town of Danville on the San Ramon Valley Unified School District’s Board of Education is seeking reelection in November as she proceeds through the final year of her first term in the seat.

Area 2 Trustee Shelley Clark made a formal campaign announcement this week, pointing to her longtime commitment to the Danville community and her accomplishments on the board to date since being first elected in 2020.
“I am incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made over the last four years in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District,” Clark said in her campaign announcement Monday. “Our focus on fostering academic excellence, embracing technological advancements, and enhancing student well-being has created a more inclusive and dynamic learning environment.
“Together with our dedicated educators, supportive parents, and engaged community, SRVUSD has implemented programs that prepare our students for future success. I look forward to continuing this important work for the next four years,” she continued.
Clark’s campaign highlighted the removal of “me too” clauses from the superintendent and assistant superintendents’ contracts – placing the administrative positions on their own pay scale rather than continuing the practice of providing raises in line with those negotiated in union contracts – plus the implementation of the district’s data dashboard, strategic directions, and learner profile as some of the highlights of her first term on the board.
The Area 2 seat represents all of the neighborhoods for John Baldwin Elementary School and some of the neighborhoods for Sycamore, Greenbrook, and Vista Grande elementary schools and San Ramon Valley and Monte Vista high schools.
Clark has been a Danville resident for more than 35 years, with her two children having attended SRVUSD schools. Prior to her election to the board in 2020, she served as chair of the district’s Parcel Tax and Facilities oversight committees. Professionally, she has been CFO for West Cal Technologies Group since 2013.
“We have accomplished a lot in the almost four years I have been on the board, but there is still much to do,” Clark said in her campaign announcement. “I care deeply about our students’ wellbeing, as well as their academic growth. I believe in inclusivity and providing each student what they need to be successful. I am a voice for all students and will continue to be if I am re-elected.”
