Heavy equipment is at work renovating the parking lot in the Green Valley Shopping Center on Diablo Road to get everything ready for when Fresh & Easy opens along with Walgreens at some time in the future. The site, just east of I-680, formerly housed Albertsons grocery store.
The parking lot was partly revamped for better handicapped access, and is undergoing regrading. After that, the asphalt will be laid, probably in one day, said Danville building inspector Don Stanley.
The project is also improving the lights in the parking lot.
