Have questions about health care reform being discussed in Washington, D.C.? U.S. Rep. Jerry McNerney (D., 11th) will hold his next telephone town hall at 6:40 p.m. PST, Thursday, Nov. 5. This is the seventh telephone town hall Rep. McNerney has held this year, on health care reform and other topics.

This Thursday evening, residents from cities throughout the 11th District will be contacted by phone and, if they choose to participate, will join an hour-long telephone town hall meeting during which they will be able to ask questions of McNerney about the proposed health care legislation as well as other topics.

Residents of the 11th Congressional District can contact one of McNerney’s Pleasanton office at 737-0727 to sign up for the telephone town hall. The deadline is 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5.

McNerney also meets with people at Congress at Your Corner sessions to hear their thoughts on and answer questions about proposed health care legislation.

  1. I want health care reform but not at the expense of those who will have to pay the higher taxes to fund it. All taxpayers, with the exception of the very poor, will pay. Let’s get real, this is a program for those who will not pay for insurance because they choose not to (like a lot of self-employed) and those who don’t want to stand in line for the free health clinics that are all over the United States. Non-residents can get free health care from hospitals and clinics, and and so can residents. It is just another partisan promise that must go through to tell eveyone “see we did what we promised.” Though it may not be the best solution, it is a some kind of solution. The thinking in Washington is something is better than nothing.
