From a pool of 8,200 teachers in Contra Costa County, California High School teacher John Korzick represents the San Ramon Valley Unified School District as a top choice in the Teachers of the Year 2010-11 competition.

Korzick is an Academy Lead Teacher/Computer Integrated Manufacturing Teacher at California High School.

Other semi-finalists include: Kasey Graham, Antioch USD, Dozier-Libbey Medical High; Michele Lamons, West Contra Costa USD, Pinole Valley High; Lori Leach, Brentwood USD, R. Paul Krey Elementary; and Daniel Reynolds, Mt. Diablo USD, Mt. Diablo High.

These honorees were chosen from 20 nominees, in total representing 17 county school districts and the community college district, 18 of which will compete in the Contra Costa County Teacher of the Year competition.

The winner of the county TOY program will represent Contra Costa County in the California State TOY program in the fall.
