Construction workers on the extensive renovations of the Veterans Memorial Building in Danville showed appreciation for those who have served their country by hanging this sign at site.

Construction work on the 1925 building in June and is expected to be completed by the end of 2011.

“The $7 million project will restore and preserve the portion of the existing building which faces Hartz Avenue as a state of the art Veteran’s facility,” according to the Town of Danville website. “The community hall and parking area located to the rear will be demolished to allow construction of a larger one two-story space that will include a larger community hall, dedicated senior center and a public plaza. The total size of the building will double, from 6,300 to 12,792 square feet.”
