Blue skies this morning allowed residents to see that Mount Diablo is blanketed with snow after a week of cold temperatures and precipitation.

People driving up to the state park yesterday found they had to travel inside the gate and then walk a mile to reach the snow if they wanted to play in it.

The Bay Area forecast is partly cloudy with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. West winds of 5 to 15 mph are also expected.

Tonight is expected to be partly cloudy with lows near 40 and west winds of 10 to 15 mph, becoming 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

Monday is expected to be partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers in the afternoon and highs in the lower to mid 50s.
