St. Isidore’s eighth graders held the first annual Give A Wish…Get A Wash carwash in the school parking lot, which raised $2280 and awareness for two important charities.

The four-hour event benefited the Make a Wish Foundation and the Samantha Corpus Foundation, which supports sufferers of Rhett Syndrome, a debilitating neurological disorder diagnosed almost exclusively in females.

Students were responsible for all aspects of the car wash from selling the idea to the school, the community and orchestrating the event.

“The students came ready to work and never lost sight of thegoal, which was to help kids in need,” said eighth grader teacher Melinda Daley. “The entire faculty and administration stood behind us and helped the day be a huge success. It was a great day all-around.”
