Three Danville high school graduates received their Eagle Scout awards at a a National Eagle Court of Honor on June 12.

Charlie Nanfria, Harry Gibbons and Ford Higgins belong to Troop 888 and did various community service projects, including work in conjunction with the police department and at East Bay elementary schools.

Diablo Valley College student Nanfria earned his Eagle award by planning and organizing a book drive. The San Ramon Valley High alum collected over 600 books for El Sobrante Elementary School students in El Sobrante.

Gibbonns, who also graduated from San Ramon Valley High, planned and organized landscaping and installation of a watering system to an outdoor extension of the teachers’ lounge at Montair Elementary School. He currently attends UC Davis.

Monte Vista High alum Higgins earned his Eagle award by working with the Danville Police Department to collect toys. Higgins organized a stuffed toy drive for distribution to children who are experiencing stressful situations in the San Ramon Valley. The Davidson College student collected over 500 stuffed animals.
