For the third summer, Tri-Valley Community TV (TVCTV) offered two sessions of TV production summer camp to middle school and high school students in the Tri-Valley. Thirteen campers from Danville, San Ramon, Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton took over the studios during the five-day camp to produce a special one hour show titled “Tri-Valley Youth View.”
Under the direction of Camp Director Mitch Eason, campers received an introduction to the technical and talent aspects of studio and field production, writing, producing and digital video editing. Students also met with public officials for this program, which features Congressman Jerry McNerney (D-Pleasanton) and Livermore Mayor Marshall Kamena.
“Tri-Valley Youth View,” was written and produced by the middle and high school students. They researched and wrote questions, acted as crew for all the production positions and were talent for the program,” said Melissa Tench-Stevens, Tri-Valley Community TV Executive Director.
Other guests include Cat Taylor, a naturalist at the East Bay Regional Park District; Joan Sepalla, publisher of The Independent newspaper; and Jeff Cohen, inventor of Voyage Air, a folding guitar seen on “Shark Tank.” Also appearing on the show are Joelle Cook and Linda McKeever, from Open Heart Kitchen and Holly Stower from Children of the American Revolution.
“Tri-Valley Youth View” may be seen on Monday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m., and 8 p.m. on TV 30 and at 5 p.m. on TV 28 via Comcast, on AT&T U-Verse TV via Channel 99 or live streaming at [http:// www.trivalleytv.org www.trivalleytv.org]. For more show times check the schedule on the website.
