The California Highway Patrol is asking members of the public to come forward with information about a pedestrian who was struck and killed on Interstate Highway 680 in San Ramon on Saturday night.
CHP Officer Steve Creel said officers responded to northbound I-680 just south of Bollinger Canyon Road after receiving a report of a pedestrian down at about 8:20 p.m.
Officers determined that the pedestrian, San Ramon resident Roma Bhatia, 47, had been struck in the right lane and that the impact had thrown Bhatia onto the road’s shoulder, Creel said.
There was no vehicle at the scene when officers arrived, he said.
“We’re looking for the assistance of passing motorists who may have seen something,” Creel said.
Anyone with information about the death is asked to contact the Dublin Area CHP office at (925) 828-0466.
