A 72-year-old woman died of her injuries Sunday night after she was struck on Bollinger Canyon Road at Canyon Lakes Drive in San Ramon by a red Ford Explorer, which left the scene. A San Ramon man has been arrested on charges of hit-and-run resulting in death and vehicular manslaughter.
San Ramon Police Department responded to calls about the incident at 7:08 p.m. The woman received treatment at the scene, then was flown by helicopter to John Muir Medical Center. At just after 10 p.m. she died as a result of her injuries.
Police talked to numerous witnesses who described the vehicle, which was located shortly after the incident. Its driver of the vehicle, Justin Stubblefield, 31, of San Ramon, was positively identified as the driver of the vehicle that struck the woman.
Stubblefield was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license, hit-and-run resulting in death, vehicular manslaughter, and probation violation. He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for burglary.
The case is currently under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to call the San Ramon Police Department at 973-2700.

Why is the creep allowed to drive around with a suspended license? and a warrant for his arrest? What are the police around here doing? With all the technology out there now why couldn’t they find him and put him where he belongs. Now we have a death of an innocent person who was out for a walk. It is our lax laws in this state and liberal judges who run the courts. Now the taxpayers get to keep this invidual incarcerated at great public expense for the rest of his life probably. Great way to go California as we circle the drain.
This is terrible. Hit and run accidents are awful. The sad thing is, a lot of the time, people just panic and flee because they haven’t been educated about what to do or how to stay calm. Many of them are not bad people at heart, just like the people they hit. It’s a terrible situation for everyone.

Yeah, except this wasn’t one of those times. Stubblefield sounds like a real swell member of society. He should have been in a jail cell rather than behind a wheel.
If you do hit someone in the road, and they are in the traffic lanes, the best thing you can do is park your car sideways behind where the victim landed to block traffic. They may have initial injuries that are survivable, but if they are hit a second or third time, it’s pretty much over.
Of course, no lowlife like ol’ Justin is ever going to do that.
I wonder if this fine Texas resident / visitor is the same person? Or just another scumbag with the same name?

Has one of those faces that would make a good pinata.
May She Rest In Peace.
I don’t have a need to understand or feel much for the motorist.
Hope he goes to prison.
I’m also 72 and wouldn’t like anybody to roll by and take me out.
