Traci Bautista, Studio 323-7: Business is good. I’ve been in business for eleven years and six months in this location on Hartz and Prospect. I’m a mixed media artist, and I teach classes on painting and collage. I’m an author of two books, “Doodles Unleashed” and “Collage Unleashed,” and I teach workshops on line and open the store by appointment. -
Robyn Robertson, Garden Seed — A Shop Of Uncommon Wares: I’ve been in business in Danville for seventeen years through good and bad economic times. Today we’re struggling to reach our goals in satisfying our wonderful and loyal customer base. Hopefully, a good Christmas season is on its way, and the experience of shopping in Danville is a great family affair in a small town festive atmosphere. -
Tom Thurow, People and Properties Sotheby’s International Realty: There’s a shortage of inventory in the area now. If a home is properly priced and marketed, it should sell quickly, sometimes with multiple offers and over list price. We’re pretty optimistic with mortgage rates as low as they are. With these positive indicators, 2013 should be a good year. -
Darlene Sandoval, Jacqui Amayo, and Shelsie Oliver, Danville Chocolates: Business is really good. We do a lot of special orders for occasions, such as birthdays, weddings, holidays, etc. Halloween is now upon us, so we’re getting ready with store decorations and Halloween merchandise. -
Huong Tong, Le Jardinet: I think it’s picked up since last year. I feel we have such good loyal customers that keep coming back to us. Predicting slow days and busy days is harder now. We’re selling more furniture now and not just accessories. We’re gearing up for the Christmas season, and all our orders are placed. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll have a good season.
