San Ramon Valley can Shop O’ Lot
Android and iPhone users will now have a real-time mobile shopping app that can help them get discounts at local retailers. Created by Danville resident Bob Pack, Shop O’ Lot sends consumers personalized product recommendations, continually updated discounts and comparative shopping on products they actually want while they are in-store.
Using GPS, Shop O’ Lot pinpoints the user’s location and searches through the retailer’s catalogs, matching products to their real-time shopping behavior and profile so that they receive the discounts on the products they want. The free app also allows users to shop for friends and create profiles to share favorite brands and sizes with friends and family.
Retailers already on board include Kmart, Sears, Best Buy and Tesco and more are more are due to join later this year. Visit www.shopolot.com or the app store for more information.
Togo’s debuts in Danville
A tasty new addition to Danville’s Town and Country Square is officially open for business. Togo’s, which offers sandwiches, wraps and salads, opened its first Danville location at 625 San Ramon Valley Blvd on Monday, Nov. 19.
“We are thrilled to open the latest Togo’s location in Danville and are confident that local residents will become big fans of the brand,” said owner Chrissy Chase, a Pleasanton resident.
The Danville location is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; there will be a grand opening ceremony on Jan. 19. Chase and her husband plan to open additional locations in Walnut Creek and Lafayette over the next two years.
Local dermatologist raises money for kids
Dr. Jerome Potozkin has a long history of leveraging his medical practice to help others. Over the last seven years, he has raised more than $100,000 for three charities and on Sept. 27 he donated all payments from a day’s worth of cosmetic injections to The Taylor Family Foundation.
Patients and supporters of TIFF were notified of a special one-day fundraiser called Vanity for Charity that allowed people to make checks payable to The Taylor Family Foundation for cosmetic injectables such as Botox. By the end of the day, more than $24,000 had been raised to support TIFF’s mission to enhance the quality of life and preserve the wellness of Northern California children and their families through unique therapeutic experiences and support.
Local start-up home builder closes first escrow
Billed as a “new age home builder,” San Ramon-based TRI Pointe Homes recently completed and sold its first homes. TRI Pointe builds solar homes with green point ratings and is quickly growing with the introduction of Chantrea at Silver Creek in San Jose.
“The response to Chantrea has been tremendous,” stated Carrie Newbery, TRI Pointe Home’s vice president of sales and marketing for Northern California. “Our first closing at Chantrea is one of many more to come, and it’s the beginning of our future success throughout Northern California.”
Chantrea is already selling its third phase, which is currently offering a limited number of homes that are available for pre-holiday move-ins. Every home is equipped with SunPower solar energy panels, one of many energy-efficient features that reflect TRI Pointe Homes’ philosophy of treading lightly and building wisely.
San Ramon welcomes new Dickey’s
Barbecue fiends can chow down at a new Dickey’s location in San Ramon at 3191-D Crow Canyon Place in the Crow Canyon Commons Shopping Center. The restaurant opened on Nov. 14 and the first 100 customers received a free pulled pork big barbecue sandwich.
“We are eager to feed our local community authentic mouthwatering barbecue,” said local franchise owner Donna Schiano, who owns and operates this location with her husband Louis. “We are also really excited to cater great community events.”
Bishop Ranch takes on new tenants
Bishop Ranch business community recently announced several new leases throughout its business park. Willbros Engineering, which open a new office in BR 8, alongside five other companies including Process Unlimited, 8KMiles, Diva Financial, ConnexSys Engineers and the Sam Ramon Podiatry Group. New and expanded leases represented a combined total of approximately 45,000 square feet.
“Large and small businesses alike continue to choose Bishop Ranch as their location of choice,” said Ed Hagopian, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Sunset Management Company, which owns and operates Bishop Ranch.
The leases comprise approximately 25,000 combined square feet in several buildings. Willbros Engineering leased 11,500 square feet; Process Unlimited, a full service engineering, design/drafting, safety and regulatory compliance company, leased 2,500 square feet in BR 6; 8KMiles, a cloud computing Internet company, leased 2,000 square feet in BR 15; Diva Financial, a mortgage lending company, took 2,100 square feet in BR 6; ConnexSys Engineers, provider of engineers, designers and staffing service for the energy industry signed a lease for approximately 5,000 square feet in BR 6. The San Ramon Podiatry Group joined Bishop Ranch’s medical community located in BR 11.
Bishop Ranch also signed expanded leases with the software company Five9 and William Hezmalhalch Architects (WHA), a land planning and design firm. Cloud computing provider, Five9, previously occupied a full floor in 4000 Executive Parkway and with its 16,000-foot expansion will now be occupying more than 62,000 square feet of office space. WHA is relocating from BR 1 to BR 8 and will be expanding to 5,100 square feet.
