School’s out, the official start of summer is nigh and many business owners are getting ready for a new season and fiscal year. This week, Roving Reporter Stan Wharton asked Danville business owners What’s your business outlook for summer?
Paul Byer, First Choice Abbey Carpet: Excellent. The market is heating up. Our window covering business is strong. People that aren’t selling their house are upgrading. This month marks our 25th anniversary serving Danville and the surrounding area.
Sue Banducci, Games Unlimited: This is our 25th anniversary in the Danville Livery. We have a lot of traveling customers here during the summer, so we have to keep our travel games and toys in stock. We have Car Bingo, which is a very old concept that many of the parents remember from their childhood. Grandparents, whether at home or on vacation, spend a lot of time with their grandchildren, and they tend to play a lot of board games and puzzles rather than electronics. I have a positive outlook for this summer.
Stephanie Perret, Christina’s Fine Clothing: We have been here seven years, and summers have been busy during June and July. August is usually slower as parents focus on their kids needs going back to school. We see sales continuing to increase this summer as customers get ready to travel.
June Kim, Crystal Blue Cleaners: June is good. In addition to regular business customers, we have wedding and graduation activity. Also, people have their traveling and winter clothes cleaned during the summer, and they put the winter clothes away until the fall.
