The Danville d’Elegance Foundation will kick fundraising efforts into high gear this weekend during a series of events that will benefit Parkinson’s disease research and patient care.
The annual car show in downtown Danville will close Hartz Avenue to vehicles through much of the day on Sept. 22.
Hartz Avenue will be closed from Diablo Road to Hartz Way from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Intersections along that route will also be closed, as will East Prospect between Front Street and Hartz Ave.
Car enthusiasts will begin parking along the route early in the day and the D’Elegance event will run from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. A large crowd is expected so there will be pedestrian traffic through the area. Motorists are asked to exercise caution downtown.
Railroad Avenue and Front Street have been designated as alternate routes through the downtown area.
