Danville officials have announced that the town is again offering grants to local businesses through its Business Promotion Funds program.

The town appropriates $50,000 each budget cycle to make available to Danville businesses that apply and show how they would use part of the funding to assist the local business community as a whole, according to Jill Bergman, town economic development manager.

“Funds may not be used to promote or support specific individual businesses or organizations in their marketing efforts for events that promote economic commerce,” Bergman said. “The project cannot require the preparation of specialized studies or reports.”

Town officials will look for applications that demonstrate creativity, indicate a willingness to match grant funding, show cooperation between multiple businesses, promote the “Shop Danville First” marketing program and stimulate economic development in the town, she added.

The application process began on Friday, and it will remain open until April 11 at 5 p.m.

For more information, visit the town’s Economic Development webpage or contact Bergman at 314-3369 or jbergman@danville.ca.gov.
