The Town of Danville is set to host a social media workshop Tuesday for business owners in Danville. The free workshop will be held at the Veterans Memorial Building, 115 E. Prospect Avenue, from 7-10 a.m.
Danville business owners will receive a hands-on approach to launching and maintaining social media sites — specifically Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
Tuesday’s workshop is one in a series of programs created by the town to promote business success.
“After the workshops, when we ask for feedback, we find that our small-business community is very interested in building their social media presence, but they lack the technical skills to launch their programs,” town economic development manager Jill Bergman said.
Subject experts representing various aspects of social media will provide business owners with strategies, and offer a step-by-step approach to creating a Facebook or Twitter page, posting pictures on Pinterest and Instagram, and creating a professional profile on LinkedIn, town officials said.
People can register online for any or all of the separate sessions.
