The San Ramon Valley Rotary Club is looking for contestants for the upcoming Valley Teen Idol Competition.
Auditions for the annual competition will be held Saturday (Jan. 24) 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday (Jan. 25) 1-5 p.m. at 2010 Crow Canyon Place in San Ramon. Another appointment-only audition is scheduled for Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Participants must be in the seventh through 12th grades to audition in the vocal, instrumental or group categories.
According to the SRV Rotary Club public relations director, many competition winners have gone to participate in the Fox show “American Idol” — with one winner from 2012 going onto Hollywood Week.

The semifinals are set to take place on Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Village Theatre in Danville.
The competition’s finals will be held March 29 at 2 p.m. at the Dougherty Valley San Ramon Performing Arts Center.
