Fourth-term San Ramon Valley school board member Greg Marvel was selected unanimously by his peers Tuesday evening to serve as board president for the next year.
This marks Marvel’s fourth turn as president. He’s served on the school board since 2000.
Marvel was board vice president during the past year while Denise Jennison sat as board president.
Mark Jewett, who was first elected to the school board in 2012, was named board vice president Tuesday. It’s the first time Jewett has held the position.
Ken Mintz, who is in his 11th year on the school board, was selected to serve as board clerk.
The board rotates the three leadership positions annually, typically during a reorganization meeting in December.
Marvel’s and Jewett’s seats on the school board will both be up for re-election next year.
