A San Ramon Valley High alum was arrested at the Danville school on Saturday evening after police allegedly found him causing damage inside the administration building.

Alamo resident Nicholas Somers, 23, was taken into custody on suspicion of burglary around 6 p.m. Saturday, according to Danville police chief Steve Simpkins.

Officers responded to the high school on Danville Boulevard that evening after receiving an alarm call, according to Simpkins.

Somers, a 2011 San Ramon Valley High graduate, was found inside the admin building and detained, according to the chief.

Police allege Somers busted a window to break into the high school’s admin building and caused vandalism inside. Simpkins described the damage as “random,” including items knocked off shelves, cabinets emptied and pictures broken.

There was no immediate indication of a possible motive, and the case remains under investigation, according to Simpkins.
