As Tri-Valley temperatures try to creep up to the triple digits this week, a heat advisory is once again in effect and local cooling centers have been re-activated.

San Ramon cooling centers

The city of San Ramon posted a list of locations where residents can go for a respite from the heat through Friday:

* San Ramon Community Center — 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

12501 Alcosta Blvd.

* Alcosta Senior and Community Center — 8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

9300 Alcosta Blvd.

* Dougherty Station Community Center — 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

17011 Bollinger Canyon Rd.

* Dougherty Station Library — 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. on Friday)

17017 Bollinger Canyon Rd.

* San Ramon Library — 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

100 Montgomery St.

City officials have also suggested residents take shelter from heat in local shopping malls, libraries, movie theaters, restaurants or community centers. And don’t forget pets (fur makes the heat even worse) — the Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center and Urgent Care, located at 2000 Bishop Dr. and operating from 7 a.m. – 10 p.m., welcomes any animals who need to cool down.

Danville spots

In anticipation of extreme temperatures, on Monday the town of Danville posted on social media that residents are welcome to cool off in public buildings this week as well:

* Danville Community Center — 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

* Danville Library — 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. on Friday)

400 Front St.

* Danville Senior Center — 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Veterans Memorial Building, 115 E. Prospect Ave.
