Danville’s historic Podva/Shuey home will be honored with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque Saturday morning.
The plaque on the home, which is located at 100 School St., will mark the first in a series of dedications that will honor the town’s historic sites, said David Crompton, principal planner for the town of Danville.
“The Heritage Resource Committee chose to enact this new program as a means of calling attention to the rich history of the town of Danville,” Crompton said in a statement. “The plaques will provide residents with a sense of the significance of these sites.”
The presentation is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Podva family members are expected to be present for the event.

I think it’s wonderful that the “town” is honoring Danville Pioneers in this way.
