An insurance company is offering a financial reward for helping to track down and identify a male driver and female passenger of a Land Rover accused of crashing into a Blackhawk office building in August.
The $2,500 reward is for the positive identification and arrest of the suspect in the case, according to Contra Costa County sheriff’s officials.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Aug. 18 at around 10 p.m., a black, newer-model Land Rover with paper license plates collided into an office building located on Executive Parkway, across from Blackhawk Plaza, inflicting major damage to the building and to the vehicle itself.
The SUV then fled the area, later crashing into two parked cars on Center Way near the Chevron Station in Danville.
The Land Rover’s driver is described as being a white man in his early 50s, wearing a floral Hawaiian shirt. There was also a white female passenger in the car, possibly named “Gloria.”
Witnesses reported that the vehicle was later towed from the corner of Indian Rice Road and Goldenrod Lane in Danville. According to officials, the driver was last seen waving down cars on Crow Canyon Road, and it is believed that the occupants had just left a free concert at Blackhawk Plaza.
Anyone with information about the Land Rover, its occupants or the name of the tow truck company, can call the Blackhawk Police Department at 736-1018. People can also contact the sheriff’s office anonymous tip line at 866-846-3592, or send tips via email to tips@so.cccounty.us.
