The SAP Academy is hosting a fundraising fun run at Bishop Ranch this weekend.

The 5K fun run/walk — called The Purple Race — will take place on March 25 on the campus of San Ramon’s Bishop Ranch. Money raised from the event will go toward the Tyler Robinson foundation, a nonprofit that benefits families with children suffering from cancer.

Registration opens at 9 a.m. on race day, with comments from SAP and foundation officials at 9:30 and the race beginning at 10. Participation costs $25, and runners and walkers can sign up online before 11:59 p.m. on March 23.

Donations alone are also welcome at the same webpage.

The SAP Academy is a nine-month program that prepares recent college graduates from around the world for careers in sales. The program operates out of the software corporation SAP’s regional office at Bishop Ranch.

The Tyler Robinson Foundation was founded by rock band Imagine Dragons after the musicians met cancer patient Tyler Robinson, who died from cancer at the age of 17. The race is dubbed “The Purple Race” in honor of Robinson’s favorite color.
