San Ramon police said they are investigating some “threatening graffiti” that was found at Dougherty Valley High School on Thursday morning.

While police — who have not disclosed the nature of the threat — have said they do not have any additional evidence validating the credibility of the graffiti, they have still increased their presence on campus, at least for the day.

“We are handling it as we would with any other threat, we are taking this very seriously,” San Ramon police Lt. Cary Goldberg said, adding, “We have not discovered any additional information that would tend to measure the credibility of the threat other than the graffiti itself.”

This is the third such threat reported in the Tri-Valley over the past week, following graffiti found in a Foothill High School bathroom on Wednesday and another at Pleasanton Middle School in a bathroom last week.

San Ramon police are still investigating the Dougherty Valley graffiti and continue to encourage students who “see something to say something.”
