Starting Tuesday, regional early voting stations will be placed throughout Contra Costa County in order to give voters who may be pressed for time the opportunity to drop off their ballots before the June 5, primary election.

Eight sites will be placed throughout the county with one located at San Ramon City Hall, 7000 Bollinger Canyon Road. The stations will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 29 through June 1, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday June 2.

“We continue to seek ways to make voting as convenient as possible for our voters,” said Joe Canciamilla, Contra Costa County registrar of voters. “The night and weekend hours make it easier for Contra Costa voters who commute or want to vote at a convenient site before Election Day.”

Registered Contra Costa voters will be able to obtain their ballot and vote at any of the locations, regardless of whichever city or town they live. For example, a Danville resident who works at Bishop Ranch is allowed to drop off their ballot at the San Ramon City Hall early voting site.

The other seven regional early voting sites include:

* Antioch Community Center, 4703 Lone Tree Way, Antioch

* Bay Hills Community Church, 4000 Klose Way, Richmond

* Walnut Creek City Hall, 1666 N. Main St., Walnut Creek

* Ambrose Community Center, 3105 Willow Pass Rd., Bay Point

* Monument Crisis Center 1990 Market St., Concord

* El Cerrito City Hall, 10890 San Pablo Ave., El Cerrito

* Contra Costa Clerk-Recorder-Elections Office, 555 Escobar St., Martinez

As a reminder Tuesday is the last day to request a vote by mail ballot, if residents fail to do so the only way to vote prior to election day is to use one of the eight aforementioned drop off sites.

In addition to the early voting locations, the Contra Costa County Elections Division has established drop-off sites for voters who have registered to receive mail-in ballots.

More information on voting, as well as a full list of drop off locations for mail in voters, can be found online at the county elections office.

Day of voting for the election begins on June 5, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
