Danville police are looking for one particular witness who may have information regarding Sunday night’s parking lot explosion at the Smart & Final supermarket on Diablo Road.
Police have confirmed that the explosion, which happened around 7:12 p.m., originated from a “pipe bomb.”
Chief Allan Shields described the sought-after witness as a white male, somewhere between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, around 240 to 250 pounds, clean-shaven and was last seen driving a white sedan. The vehicle could be a Jaguar X-type car.
While no injuries were reported, two cars were damaged in the small explosion. Police continue to investigate the cause of the explosion and are searching for any potential suspects associated with the bomb.
