The “Hot Summer Sundays” car show will be hosting two events in downtown Danville this summer, with the first event occurring in just a few weeks.
The car show features classic cars to create an exciting street party that will bring all car enthusiasts together. In its 24th year, the show will bring in hundreds of hot rods and classic cars to Hartz and Prospect avenues.
The first event will be held on Sunday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the second event will be held on Sunday, August 19 at the same time.
In addition, there will also be rare collector cars, custom designed cars and muscle cars from both historic and contemporary eras. ABC7’s Dan Ashley will be serving as the Master of Ceremonies, while the event itself will include live music, vendor booths, local shop owners, restaurateurs and awards for the best collector vehicles.
Classic vehicle owners can register online or at the venue during the day of the event. The registration fee is $20 per vehicle per show. Vehicles that are pre-registered have guaranteed entry and will be staged between 7 and 8 a.m. Pre-registered vehicles lose priority entry after 8 a.m.
Cars being registered on the day of the event will be subject to a $30 registration fee. They cannot arrive before 8 a.m., and onsite registration is based on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Vehicle staging will occur between 7 and 10 a.m. Cars can only enter the venue through the main staging area on Hartz Avenue via Danville Boulevard and will be directed by volunteers to their parking location. Owners cannot choose their own staging area and must remain in their designated parking spot for the entirety of the show.
Danville town officials announced a series of road closures set for 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday to accommodate the event:
