The San Ramon Planning Commission is set to discuss updates city staff proposes to make to the San Ramon Economic Development Strategic Plan (EDSP) in order to align with the city’s retail strategy on Tuesday evening.

At an informational discussion with no formal action to be taken, the commissioners will discuss the retail strategy approved by the City Council last May, with the goal of strengthening and promoting local retail and restaurant offerings, according to a staff report community development director Debbie Chamberlain.

“Additionally, other edits have been made to update demographic, housing and economic data in the EDSP, and to reflect the current status of the City Center Bishop Ranch project or other initiatives in the city and the wider region,” Chamberlain wrote. “Overall, the edits are targeted in nature and do not require wholesale modifications to the EDSP.”

The San Ramon Planning Commission will hold its regular meeting Tuesday 7 p.m., at San Ramon City Hall, 7000 Bollinger Canyon Road, inside of the Council Chambers.

The Planning Commission will review potential plans for economic revitalization in the Crow Canyon area and discuss refining alternative plans for final consideration by the City Council.

A follow-up to the Planning Commission’s Feb. 5 study session, city staff will present the commission with clarifying information about alternative options for the Crow Canyon Specific Plan Update.

Originally created in 2006, the plan is being updated by the city in an attempt to encourage investment and economic revitalization in the area, while guiding the evolution of the 128-acre office and service commercial area near the San Ramon-Danville border.

A full drafted plan of the update is expected to be released to the public some time this summer.
