Danville comedy fans can look forward to local comedian Liz Grant returning to town on Thursday, bringing with her laugh-out-loud comedians Karinda Dobbins and Jeremy Curry.

As part of a monthly comedy series held at Danville’s Village Theatre and Art Gallery, “Comedy with Liz Grant and Friends” features Grant as the emcee along with some of the most talented comedians from throughout the Bay Area.

Coming to town as this month’s headlining friend, Dobbins has opened for well-known comedians such as Dave Chappelle, Trevor Noah and Michelle Wolf. She is also known for her performances on the Bridgetown Comedy Festival and Comedy Central’s Colossal Clusterfest.

Joining the duo is Curry, whom Village Theatre officials say will bring his signature high energy and in-your-face style of comedy to town. In addition to headlining his own shows, Curry has opened for George Wallace, Carlos Mencia and Aries Spears.

Comedians may use mature themes and language in their material, so theater officials have set an age recommended of 18 years old and up — but comedy fans under 16 can attend if accompanied by an adult.

The show is set to be held this Thursday (April 25), 7:30 p.m. at the Village Theatre, 233 Front St., Danville. Tickets are $20 if purchased online or $25 at the door. Future shows are scheduled to be held on May 3, June 20, July 11 and Aug. 8.
