Residents in San Ramon are invited to discuss mental health issues and suicide prevention methods at the Contra Costa Behavioral Health Services upcoming suicide prevention forum scheduled for Sept. 12 at the San Ramon Community Center.
A division of Contra Costa Health Services, Behavioral Health Services officials say these forums inform leaders about the needs of the community and will help guide the allocation of local Mental Health Services Act funding.
Contra Costa County’s current MHSA budget provides more than $50 million in support of more than 80 mental health programs and services offered in the area. The forum will act as a way to take the community’s pulse on how these funds can best be spent and will help county officials create their MHSA three-year program and expenditure plan for fiscal years 2020-2023.
Individuals interested in attending the free event can register online at chealth.org/mentalhealth/mhsa, or by contacting staff at 957-2617 or mhsa@cchealth.org.
