With small businesses throughout Contra Costa County continuing to be hampered as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Tri-Valley Congressman Mark DeSaulnier has announced that he will be hosting a virtual town hall this week to help inform business owners on incoming aid.

Set to be held Wednesday (March 17), DeSaulnier (D-Concord) will be joined by a representative from the U.S. Small Business Administration who will provide the latest information on COVID-19 relief programs like the Paycheck Protection Program.

“Since the start of this pandemic, my office has heard from thousands of Contra Costa families struggling to make rent, pay their bills, support their children through virtual learning or keep their small business. This much-needed relief would extend a lifeline to these families and our communities,” DeSaulnier said of the now-approved American Rescue Plan Act — which seeks to provide pandemic relief.

“After months of roadblocks from the Trump administration, it is a new day with the Biden administration working with us to get the country on the path to recovery and to emerge even stronger,” he added.

This will be DeSaulnier’s 127th town hall and mobile district office event since first being elected to congress in 2014.

DeSaulnier’s Solving America’s Gun Problem Virtual Town Hall will be held via Zoom and Facebook at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Residents can RSVP or submit a question online at DeSaulnier’s official website or by calling 925-933-2660.
