The San Ramon City Council is poised to appoint a new planning commissioner following the resignation of Rick Marks, whose term was set to expire this June.
The new commissioner will be appointed to a four-year term that extends through June 2027. City officials solicited applications for Marks’ replacement earlier in the year, with nine applications coming in by the March 19 deadline. The list includes Madhuri Adettiwar, Sayed Ahmed, Laxmi Bhat, Dave Curtis, Pallavi Gandhi, Sarah Gao, Srinivasa Manapragada, John McLaurin and Rajiv Ojha.
Councilmembers are set to conduct interviews with the nine candidates at an upcoming special meeting before selecting one for appointment immediately.
In addition to Marks’ resignation, Planning Commissioner Jean Kuznik’s term is set to expire this June. The commission is made up of five members who serve staggered four-year terms. The other three commissioners — Gary Alpert, Eric Wallis and Corie Edwards — are in the midst of terms that expire in June 2025.
The San Ramon City Council’s special meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday (April 5). The agenda is available here.
