Bishop Ranch roundtable

Sunset Development President Alex Mehran Jr. is set to provide updates on new developments in Bishop Ranch at the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce’s next fourth Friday roundtable discussion, including next steps for mixed-use redevelopment plans for the former Chevron Park. 

The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday (March 22) in the PG&E Training Center at 3301 Crow Canyon Rd. in San Ramon. Registration and more information are available here.

Suicide prevention panel

The San Ramon Police Department is hosting a suicide prevention panel for teens next week, in partnersip with the youth empowerment organization Teen Esteem.

The discussion is set to include information about depression, the need for measures to prevent suicide, warning signs, and how to respond, with mental health professionals and people who have survived suicidal thinking in the past making up the event’s panel.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday (March 27) from 6-9 p.m. in the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center at 10550 Albion Road in San Ramon. Registration and more information are available here.

Juried art exhibit submissions

Organizers with the City of San Ramon are seeking local artists to submit their work for consideration in the city’s first-ever juried art exhibit. 

The theme of the inaugural exhibit is “Natural to Abstract” with submissions open through April 12 at 5 p.m. for San Ramon residents across six categories consisting of kindergarten to second grade, third grade through fifth grade, sixth grade through eighth grade, 18 years old and up, and 55 years old and up.

Pieces to be submitted must be two-dimensional works only, not exceed 30 inches by 40 inches in size including framing, as well as being original and completed within the past two years. 

Selected artists are set to be notified on April 17, then drop off their pieces between April 22 and April 24 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. 

The exhibit is set to be on display in the Dougherty Station Community Arts Center at 17011 Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon from May 6-28. A public artists reception and award ceremony is scheduled for May 10 from 6-8 p.m.
