Granada baseball wins NCS championship after marathon title game spanning two days
It took two days, two different fields and 14 innings of play, but in the end the Granada High baseball team finally got its first North Coast Section championship.

EBAL BASEBALL POWER RANKINGS
1) Granada (29-1): The Mats win the school’s first ever NCS title with an epic 1-0 win over De La Salle in 14 innings. The top seed in the NorCal playoffs, the Mats host No. 8 Clovis West on Tuesday.
2) De La Salle (20-7): The Spartans see their six-year run as NCS champs come to an end with the 1-0 final loss to Granada. Seeded No. 4 in NorCal, DLS will host No. 5 Rocklin. A win and they would likely face Granada again in the semifinals.
3) San Ramon Valley (16-11): Season over.
4) Foothill (13-13): Season over.
5) Livermore (14-12): Season over.
Others: Amador Valley (10-14), Dublin (10-14), Monte Vista (15-12), California (11-13), Dougherty Valley (7-16).
EBAL SOFTBALL POWER RANKINGS
1) Livermore (24-6): The No. 2 seed in the NCS D-II playoffs fell in the title game 2-0 to top-seeded Casa Grande. Still the EBAL regular season and playoff champs.
2) Amador Valley (16-11): The Dons win the NCS D-I playoffs beating top-seeded California in the semifinals, then College Park in the finals. Got the No. 8 seed in NorCal and will face No. 1 Saint Francis in the Tuesday opener.
3) California (16-8): The Grizzlies fell 6-1 to Amador Valley in the D-I semifinals.
4) Granada (12-9): Season over.
5) San Ramon Valley (13-12): Season over.
Others: Dublin (13-8-1), Foothill (12-10), Carondelet (9-10), Monte Vista (5-13), Dougherty Valley (4-16).

All of Pleasanton suffered a huge loss when Tony Costello passed away on April 26 of this year at the age of 93.
