A 9-year-old boy with autism who was reported missing in Danville on Saturday was found safe on Sunday.

The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office and Danville Police Department issued appeals for help finding the boy after he had not been seen since Saturday at 6:30 p.m. He was considered at-risk because he is nonverbal.

The sheriff’s office said Sunday morning that he was found by someone in the Blackhawk neighborhood of Danville who then called the sheriff’s office.

The boy was safely reunited with his family.
