Police in Livermore busted a vehicle theft operation allegedly being carried out by two teenagers, the department said Wednesday.

Between Oct. 17 and 19, several reports of stolen Infiniti cars came into the Livermore Police Department, as well as the report of multiple attempted vehicle thefts.

Investigators focused in on a possible suspect vehicle registered in the city of Richmond and identified two teenage boys aged 16 and 17 as suspects, one from Richmond and one from nearby San Pablo. Detectives allege that one of the juveniles was connected to several stolen cars in Danville. Arrest warrants were issued for both boys.

On Dec. 4, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s SWAT team served a search warrant at the residence of the boy in Richmond and allegedly found a carbon-fiber Infiniti hood attached to the suspect’s vehicle which was allegedly connected to a stolen car in Livermore. The juvenile was arrested by Danville police, according to the department.

Investigators also went to the second boy’s residence in San Pablo, arresting him at his house.

The Richmond boy was booked into county juvenile hall on suspicion of vehicle theft, conspiracy and attempted vehicle theft.
