A man was arrested after a standoff with authorities that included a SWAT team presence in a Danville neighborhood earlier this week, town police confirmed Thursday.
The incident reportedly began at about 2:35 p.m. Tuesday (July 14) with a domestic disturbance call on San Thomas Way, in a neighborhood between Paraiso and El Capitan drives.
“The suspect, who was in a residence and reported to be in possession of a firearm, refused to talk to officers. Sheriff’s Office negotiators and the SWAT Team responded to the scene,” the Danville Police Department told DanvilleSanRamon. “The suspect later came out of the house and surrendered without incident.”
The man – whose identity was not revealed – was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence, police said.
The case remains under investigation, according to police.
