San Ramon police say a threat was made against Iron Horse Middle School on Monday night.
The threat was sent electronically but was not reported to police until Tuesday.
The threat referenced violence, but did not contain specific elements concerning any individual names.
Police said they had a presence at the school Tuesday and are “thoroughly investigating the incident, as we do with any mention of violence connected to our community.”
Police also said they will continue to provide a “strong presence” at the school while investigating the threat “to help ensure the safety of the students, their families, and the faculty.”
