The East Bay Athletic League came with eight wins in the North Coast Section Meet of Champions Track and Field Championships that were held at Dublin High School last weekend.

The boys brought home six titles, while the EBAL girls captured two championships.

The top two in each event automatically qualified for the CIF State Championships this Friday to Saturday at Buchanan High in Clovis.

On the boys’ side, sophomore Jaden Jefferson of De La Salle ruled the sprints, winning the 100 and 200. In the 100 Jefferson clocked a 10.46, then came back later in the day to go 21.39 to win the 200.

De La Salle also got an individual win from Adonis Cole in the triple jump with a leap of 42-03.5. Tyson Baugh of San Ramon Valley was second at 42-03.0.

Arrin Sagiraju of Dougherty Valley brought home the 1,600 title with a 4:12.34. Zach Bruce of California completed the individual wins by taking the shot put with a mark of 45-01.0.

In the 4×800 relay, the EBAL took the top four spots, with the first two finishers breaking the existing meet record.

Granada was the winner with the team of Eshaan Singh, Adrian Cuevas Gomez, Erik Bromley and Aleksander Schade clocked a 7:49.76.

Foothill’s quartet of Elias Benard, Brennan DeCoite, Shivan Karnik and Nolan Chavez finished at 7:53.30.

Dublin was third at 8:00.11 and Amador Valley was fourth at 8:01.44.

Some other highlights came in the high jump where Kaleb Pleis of San Ramon Valley, Dwayne Noel of Livermore and Jourdan Tse of Dougherty Valley tied for fourth.

In the 110HH, Nathaniel Maddox of Dublin was third at 14.61. In the 800, Cuevas Gomez was second at 1:58.55, and DeCoite was third at 1:58.66.

In the 300IH, EJ Boeschenstein of Foothill was second at 38.84, with Trey Caldwell running third in the 3,200 with a 9:06.08.

On the girls’ side of the meet, both wins came in relay races.

In the 4×400 Monte Vista was first with the team of Cate Miller, Natalie McGowan, Peyton Dolan and Isabella Moriyama finishing at 3:55.66.

San Ramon Valley was second as Holly Noden, Hope Diekmann, India Harvey and Izabella Guerrero ran a 3:59.28. Dublin completed the sweep for the EBAL with Angelica Gomes, Naeemah Grant-Gurganious, Ria Inamdar and Kayci Phillips finishing at 4:00.18.

In the 4×800 relay, the title went to the Granada foursome of Evelyn Ruckmann-Barnes, Sade Bumpus, Mia Lnenicka and Jana Barron with a winning time of (9:10.30).

Individually, Elise Doyle of San Ramon Valley was second at 12-3. The high jump saw Riley McMullen, another SRV athlete, finish second a 5-5.

The Wolves also added a third in the 4×100 relay with Kyra Hansen, Diekmann, Sophia Gonzalez, and Harvey finishing third at 48.17.

NCS baseball

Top-seeded Granada and No. 2 De La Salle remain on a collision course to meet in the title game, but both have some work to do before that happens.

The Matadors beat Dublin (7-0) and James Logan (11-1) to advance to the Tuesday semifinals where they will face No. 4 Acalanes in a 5 p.m. start.

The Spartans got their semifinal berth with wins over Liberty 10-0 and Heritage (13-3). They will host No. 3 College Park, also on Tuesday with a 5 p.m. start.

NCS softball

There is guaranteed to be an EBAL team in the Division I finals as top-seeded California will host No. 4 Amador Valley in one semifinal.

The Grizzlies reached the Wednesday semifinal by beating Berkeley 8-0 and San Ramon Valley 9-4.

Amador advanced to the semifinal by beating Heritage 10-0 and James Logan 5-2.

The other semifinal — this one is taking place on Tuesday — sees No. 3 College Park hosting No. 7 Liberty.

In the D-II playoffs, No. 2 seeded Livermore will host No. 3 Benicia at Junction School in Livermore on Tuesday. The Cowboys beat Ukiah 12-0 and Alhambra 8-0 to advance to the semis.

Top-seeded Casa Grande plays host to Alameda (No. 5) in the other semifinal.

NCS golf

The EBAL took the top two team spots in the NCS D-I tournament played May 13 at the Tilden Park Golf Course.

De La Salle won the event 31 strokes, finishing with a team score of 353, bettering second place San Ramon Valley who finished at 384. Tamalpais was third with 389.

Individually Josh Kim of De La Salle was the medalist with a 67. Kailer Stone of Alameda (68), Sean Kwok of Foothill (69) and Jack Hayden of De La Salle (69) were the top four finishers.

With Kim and Hayden advancing to the CIF NorCal Championship on May 20 at the Berkeley Country Club with the De La Salle team, Ray Zhang of Dougherty Valley and Leo McDonough of Campolindo join Stone and Kwok as individual qualifiers.

In the team competition, after Kim and Hayden, the Spartans counted the scores of Jaden Dumdumaya (72), Colin Keith (72) and Keane Ponce (73).

San Ramon Valley scores came from Jack Pohlman (74), Jude Johnson (77), Jack Fitch (77), Ben Bath (78) and Tyler Schmigel (78).
