As expected, the East Bay Athletic League represented well at the CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships last weekend at the Clovis Swim Center.

Mckinley Scobie of Foothill and Tim Wu of Dougherty Valley took individual titles, while the EBAL occupied many spots in the finals, finishing in the top nine in one of the toughest swimming states in the country.

On the girls’ side, Scobie got her title in the 200 freestyle, winning in a time of 1:47.42. She was also second in the 100 free with a time of 49.29.

In the 400 free relay, San Ramon Valley was third with the team of Parkinson, Kayla Arneson, Babushkina and Linares Danzos taking the spot. Granada with Brooke Bennett, Megan Lemler, Taylor Bennett and Gaby Kleman combined to finish eighth.
