The town of Danville will be adding 50 more parking spaces to the Clocktower parking lot and plans to create 81 parking spots on Front Street.
Once the Clocktower parking lot is renovated it will go from a two-hour to a three-hour parking limit, said town civil engineer Mike Stella. He said the time limit was extended as a result of input from downtown merchants.
The plan is to renovate and expand the existing parking lot at the Clocktower. Right now there are 153 parking spots inside the lot and 43 along the street. The new parking lot will have 193 inside the parking lot and 14 along the street. The town plans to create 50 additional parking spots at the Clocktower by narrowing Railroad Avenue and redesigning the existing layout.
