The town of Danville provides fun and interesting day trips around the Bay Area through its Senior Sneakers program, led by coordinator Jane Lee. Most trips leave from the Park and Ride on Sycamore Valley Road, near I-680.

The following trips still have openings with prices quoted for Danville residents; nonresidents pay slightly more:

* Music… Music… Music – Factory tour of guitar-maker Alembic in Santa Rosa, with after-lunch entertainment by guitarist singer, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednesday, July 27. Cost $27; bring $28 for lunch and show.

* Have Wings, Will Travel – Tour of Livermore airport and optional control tower (it’s up seven flights of stairs!), lunch, tour of Oakland Western Aerospace Museum, from 8:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 4. Cost is $31; bring money for organized lunch.

* Walk Like an Egyptian – Tour of Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, lunch, stroll through San Jose’s Rose Gardens, and shopping at Santana Row, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 11. Cost is $39, plus money for lunch.

* If these Walls Could Talk – Ranger-led tour of Alcatraz Island, cell-block audio tour, plus a live presentation by former prison guard, from 2:30-10 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 25. Meet at 3 Brothers of China in San Ramon. Cost is $48; bring money for supper.

* Dinner at Bridges – Evening of elegant dress and fine dining at Bridges, 44 Church St. at Hartz, known from the movie “Mrs. Doubtfire,” from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1. Cost is $3 plus money for dining.

* Farallon Islands – Eight-hour chartered boat tour by Oceanic Society marine biologists to see tufted puffins, loons, auklets, seals, sea lions and perhaps humpback and gray whales, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 4. Cost is $106.
