The Alamo Merchant and Professional Association named Claudia Waldron as its Business Person of the Year, presenting the award at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony it sponsored earlier this month.
“This special recognition has been awarded to Claudia for outstanding service to AMPA and the community of Alamo,” said Joe Combs, AMPA president. “Claudia was selected from among a number of highly qualified nominees as the best possible choice for this distinction.”
Criteria for the award included membership and service to the association, service to the community of Alamo, and other achievements and accomplishments. The association received many nominations from its members, Combs said.
Each year the award is presented at the Alamo tree lighting, which is always the first Sunday in December.
The Alamo Merchant and Professional Association is a not-for-profit business organization to improve the business environment and the community of Alamo. It holds a business luncheon the second Tuesday of each month and a social mixer the fourth Wednesday. For more information, visit www.alamobusiness.com or call Joe Combs at 989-6086.
