At what age would you leave your kids alone?
Darah Power, nurse: I would never leave my kids alone. I would leave them alone when they are 17 and ready to leave home.
Liane Swenson, Para-educator: I would not leave my kids alone. My parents left me alone when I was 16 and that was a huge mistake. A lot of it depends on your child. I know my children and they are very responsible. To be left alone by yourself overnight is scary.
Sheryl Sherrod, homemaker: I have a 13-year-old daughter and I leave her alone for four hours. And I have an 8-year-old son and a 4-year-old son, and I would not leave them alone. It depends on their maturity.
Steve Beck, venture capitalist: I absolutely would leave my children alone during the evening but not overnight.They are 14 and 16 years old. We’ve been leaving them alone for a few years.
Nicole Gilmore, homemaker: I think it would probably depend on their maturity level. It would depend on their maturity and readiness. My kids are not at that level yet. I think they would be ready at 12.
