Three Danville trumpet students, Jared Keil, Sean Callahan and Tommy Poppa, have been accepted to the All Northern Junior High Honor Band, the most elite honor band in California. They will be traveling to Fresno State University at the end of February to have a weekend of rehearsals and performances with other young musicians. Callahan and Poppa, both 14, attend Diablo Vista Middle School; Keil, 12, attends Charlotte Wood Middle School.
All three study at Danville Music with Scott Miller, who holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in trumpet performance.
“I couldn’t be more proud of my three guys,” said Scott. “This was the first year they all auditioned, and all three were invited to be a part of this wonderful honor band. I am very proud of their hard work and dedication.”
