Street Smarts, a program dedicated to heightening traffic awareness among youths, is accepting entries for its video contest for middle schoolers. Prizes include season passes to Paramount’s Great America, gift certificates, and behind the scenes tours at the KTVU Channel 2 news studio.
The two categories for this year’s contest are “Street Crossing Safety: Dazed and Distracted – Street Smarts for the Streetwise” and “Bicycle and Scooter Safety: Use Your Brain, Use Your Brain Bucket.” Participants are allowed to submit videos for either or both of the themes.
The top 10 videos selected will be shown on television and will be presented at the Danville Children’s International Film Festival. Videos for the “Street Crossing” theme are due by 4 p.m. March 3; videos for the “Bicycle and Scooter Safety” theme are due by 4 p.m. April 21.
