Athletes who spend time in the sun have special challenges protecting their skin. To address the problem, the Women’s Dermatologic Society is doing community outreach at the Longs Drugs LPGA Challenge at Blackhawk Country Club this weekend with “Play Safe in the Sun.” Dermatologists will offer free skin cancer screenings as well as free sunscreen, educational materials and dermatologic assessments.

The services will be offered from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 22-23; and from 9 a.m.-noon, Sunday, Sept. 24, in the tournament’s exhibition village.
